The London Villages Project (LVP) – part of London Independent Photography – where you see me being Passionate about Prefabs!
My poetry, translations & images are in issue 33/34 of FIRE, and there are photos & poetry in the summer issue of Labour of Love.
Look out for Issue 12 of 14 magazine, where, as featured artist, 13 of my photographs appear.
The jacket covers on: the aforementioned issue of FIRE, Tommy Frank O’Connor’s Meeting Mona Lisa, DOGHOUSE Publishing, Sue Rose’s From the Dark Room, Cinnamon Press.
And in 2012... LVP, of course, another book cover design James Lawless's Rus in Urbe, DOGHOUSE.... and who knows what surprises life still has in store... so watch this space...
I'll have some new books coming to blurb in 2012. Click on the following link to check for updates:
2011 was an interesting year... though not always for the right reasons. I found my visits to photograph the village I selected for LVP increasingly depressing as, each time, I discovered more abandoned and boarded up prefab homes.
On the other hand, my jacket designs are in growing demand, which is very gratifying and I’ve decided to continue to make my own exhibition frames as an extension of the creative process (hope that doesn’t sound pompous?).
It was my intention to take time out to write more, produce some artists’ books and poetry films. My dilemma is that the older I get, the more I want to do in the diminishing time I have left, and the faster time passes. However, writing is high on my list along with several unfinished photographic projects.
Films will be for next year!
I've translated my first 'acousmatic opera' Yawar Fiesta by Werner Lambersy, which will be performed at Huddersfield University on 16 February, 2012, as part of the Electric Spring Festival.
In 2012 during the Cultural Olympiad and run-up to the London Olympics... make sure you're around for the Greenwich-Lewisham LVP Group Exhibition 18-28 June at Linear House in Greenwich - more details will follow.
Also look out for details on the Southbank Centre Poetry Parnassus 25 June-2 July. Further details will follow.
